Description :

Green- Turkey Berry is a Chettinad delicacy. It is spicy with a slight lingering bitterness, which is anti-fungal and anti-bacterial, a classic dish of South India (Tamil Nadu).
INGREDIENTS:

Heat a clay pot or kadhai and add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal and dried red chillies garlic.
Saute well. Add crushed turkey berries, mix, and add a 1/4 tsp salt. Stir well, add asafoetida. Now add the ground coconut, chopped onion, tomato paste, fenugreek seeds and stir well till the raw smell disappears.
Add turmeric powder, and mix.
Add tamarind water and salt as per taste mix well, add sambar powder cook for at least five minutes in high flame.
Give it a good mix and let it cook on a low flame for 5 minutes, till it thickens and oil separates.
Now add jaggery, cook for a minute.
Take it off the flame and serve with hot rice and papad.
